POLITICO Breaking News


More than one million Americans signed up for health insurance during the first three weeks of December, including 500,000 through the federal exchange, President Barack Obama announced Friday.

"For all the challenges we've had ... more than half a million Americans have enrolled in HealthCare.gov through the first three weeks of December alone," he said. In all, more than one million people signed up for insurance through state and federal exchanges through the first three weeks of the month, a White House official said.
